Should I choose consecutive or simultaneous interpreting?
Consecutive interpreting conveys contributions in sections during pauses. Simultaneous interpreting follows the ongoing speech with a short delay. Group size, schedule, languages and equipment all matter.
How much does an interpreter cost?
Pricing depends on languages, date, location, duration, subject and qualifications. Travel, preparation, waiting time and equipment may be additional items.
How early should I request an interpreter?
Enquire when the date and venue are known. Some languages, subjects and dates need more planning. We confirm specific availability only after checking.
What information do you need for a quote?
Specify languages and directions, date, start time, planned duration, full address, purpose and participant count. Include the subject and a reachable contact.
When do I need a sworn interpreter?
The responsible institution determines the qualifications required for its appointment. Ask about any appointment, oath or other requirements and who may commission the interpreter.
What equipment is needed?
Requirements depend on the format and venue. A small consecutive conversation may need a simple setup; simultaneous delivery may need microphones, receivers, channels and booths.
How should I brief the interpreter?
Send agendas, presentations, scripts, names and terminology in advance where possible. Explain the purpose, sensitive terms and context. Preparation requirements are agreed as part of the assignment.
Which languages and dialects can I request?
Specify both spoken languages and the required directions. For regional varieties or dialects, provide the origin and customary language name, such as the particular Arabic variety or Chinese spoken language…
How do we plan duration, breaks and a team?
Provide start and finish times, programme items and breaks. Consecutive interpreting adds conversation time. Longer simultaneous assignments may need a team.
Can interpreting take place by video or telephone?
Tell us if you want a video or telephone appointment. We check whether the format, languages and technical setup fit the request; this is not a general availability promise.
Does interpreting include translation of my documents?
Interpreting covers spoken communication during the agreed appointment. Written translation, editing or a certified version of your documents is not automatically included.
What if my appointment changes or is cancelled?
Report changes to date, duration, languages or location as early as possible. New availability must be checked; the original confirmation does not automatically cover another appointment.
